Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found as loot gathered by enemies or received from missions and chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the necessary component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph with a different one the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant variations from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes for it, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade will require an amount of Flightstones and crests depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to a new character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will result in lower chances of success.

Engineers will utilize a level to measure the height of the building with a known point, such as the benchmark. This method is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to a high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more frequently than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may come with a bonus that boosts the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes number sets that grant an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a great method to give a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling can offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and advance in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in various ways. They can have different sizes, have none at all, or contain just one element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that provide high defense value and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Certain set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions that can be beneficial in certain builds.  item upgrader  is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their levels. For instance, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. This will display the item's attributes, along with the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when fully updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
